Armoured cable is manufactured to SABS 1507, and is approved by municipalities and other major utility companies. It is also used by electrical contractors and electricians.
Construction
Armoured cable is typically used in underground installations to supply mains power and is constructed from a combination of cross-linked polyethylene insulation, steel wire armouring and copper conductors which are wrapped in a protective black metal sheath.
